The National Institute of Health (NIH) received 5 Billion extra dollars this year as part of the stimulus package. From April till now, they managed to spend this extra 5 Billion. Well they didn’t spend it they managed actually to increase the amount of grants they fund by 5 Billion and have given it all away. They became the FIRST federal agency to spend their stimulus money in its entirety and as a consequence received a personal visit from the President and and “atta boy” speech. They also had a party for those in DC working for the NIH.

Is it just me? Or is something wrong here. Celebrating who can spend our money the fastest?
