re: #403 Fat Bastard Vegetarian

In all fairness to the “Blair”. My wife and son went to see it before the spoilers came out. There were documentaries on TV about the movie, giving it (false) credibility. Scared the be-jeebus out of both of them.

I think watching it after finding that it was a “hoax film” deadened the “fear factor”. I’ve never seen it.

I’m not crazy about scary movies. Went to see “The Ring” with my daughter, sunk down in the seat as far as I could go, put on a sleep mask and ear plugs and took a nap.

Yeah true. I did see it after probably reading some of the spoilers. I like scary movies a lot but since I’ve seen a lot of them it seems to take more to actually scare me. I did find the Ring scary for it’s creep factor and I really liked the Grudge because of the whole ‘there really is no escape no matter what you do’ factor. That was unsettling as most NA horror films are most based on a hero figure overcoming the supernatural eventually.

I wouldn’t say I found Cloverfield ‘scary’ as in horror way but scary as in suspenseful. They really did a good job of making you feel like a person who only has a first person viewpoint on what was happening and the confusion that comes out of only being able to go on that limited information.
