Apparently GOPers don’t get that flat tax schemes or other GOP plans to shift tax burdens from the rich to everyone else will massively expand the national deficit/debt.
And arguing that the current tax scheme is bad is not proof that a flat tax will solve the problem either.
Yet, they keep with this nonsense.

If anything, the last 30 years have suggested that we ought to revert to a tax system seen in the 1950s (when we had significant economic expansion and the government trimming the national debt). You know, when there were tax rates as high as 91% for income in the top bracket (before they began to slide down in the 1960s to 70% and then down to the 40s and under 40% we see today).
