re: #355 NY Nana

I am not a fan of guns. In the wrong hands? How many mad men have killed large numbers of people? If they were illegal? It would probably never happen. And people walking around with visible guns frighten the life out of me.

My 3 sons were not allowed even a water pistol when they were little. They solved that by using their wooden Playschool blocks. My daughter never even tried that. Now that they are adults, and 3 are parents? They are very pro gun control, and 1 son is a lawyer. My son in law and daughters in law all are, too.

How many schools, universities, work places, and last weeks’ health club killings?

If a State does not have strict gun control laws, where each owner must pass all sorts of tests, including mental exams, they they should be held liable for any massacres. Way too many of them.

I will now duck under my computer table.

Nana, there is no need to duck. I think we all understand the revulsion to mindless violence. But you do need to ask yourself just who those people were who perpetrated the massacres. They were, as you say, monsters. The corrollary is that they had no concern about breaking gun laws. They no doubt knew their killer fantasy was likely unchecked.

Many of these horrendous mass killings could have been cut short by one person with a concealed carry permit.
