I don’t care for it a bit, the epithet “chickenhawk”. It’s crude, disingenuous, and intellectually dishonest. From our very foundation as a nation, we have institutionalized the ideal of a civilian as the CiC of the military, and for many good reasons.

Often times this means that those we elect to office are ones who have never had the honor/burden of military service.

And for their decisions, some would call them “chickenhawks”. It is a fallacy no different than telling someone they can’t have an opinion on, nor cast a vote for women’s rights because they have a penis rather than a vagina.
