Basically, Rush has made a career of saying shit that gets people riled up, and thinking it’s funny. He has also made a lot of money off that. He has done this deliberately, and has openly mocked people who found him offensive.

This time, a group of people who found him offensive decided that they didn’t want to risk his carefully tended reputation damaging their business prospects.
