Not according to Herzl and many of the secular Zionists who founded Israel. Not according to many of the atheist and secular Jews who live, work, love, fight, and die in Israel.

Yea well that’s not really so. No matter Herzl and the Zionist Congress’ personal beliefs, they would never disparage religious Jews.

Herzl also believed that the partition of the land would be a piece of cake because the Arabs were not in any way autonomous. They were a mix of many different peoples and hadn’t done much with the land to begin with so to have their own country would be a blessing for them. Us, too.
