Just now catching up on Trump’s silliness last night. I was busy washing my hair and doing my nails.

The speech was effective in the same way the Fast and Furious movies are effective….they sell tickets to the masses. People leave them feeling a bit more excited and better about their lives. They think they too could drive a car like that. But it’s JUST A MOVIE.

In the real world, he has to get a budget through Congress to fund all of this that they will not approve. No way. He’s building a case to the American people in the hopes that they will pressure Congress to fund his fever dreams. Then we will hit the mother of all showdowns between Congress and Trump. Trump will lose.

I am much more concerned about the immigrant community and the hate crimes we continue to see than Trump driving around a Ferrari in circles.

Nope. Republicans have been on the immigrant / minority bashing kick ever since Ronald Reagan kicked off his campaign in Philadelphia, Miss.

They will do what he wants, because what he wants is what conservatives have wanted all my adult life.

Remember also that the executive order that allowed rounding up Japanese-Americans and German-Americans in WW2 has never been revoked. Plessy v Furgeson was not overturned by Brown v Board of Education. (Separate but equal was banned for schools, but the overarching idea of segregation was not overturned in that decision.)
