Not all Republicans knew anything about this, I’m sure. But the ones in charge (McConnell, Ryan, Michael Cohen, &c), I can’t imagine how they couldn’t. Their cover would be crucial to get past all this. Trump himself is a useful idiot. It’s the other leading conservatives that would have run interference and a cover up.

Hubris… they thought they could control the monster. First when he ran, they thought the primary would chew him up. Then there was no way he’d win the general. Then they thought they could control him after the inauguration. But they got scared of the base
