Frankly, I’d have to side with Palin on this one - strong defense requires spending and that’s preferable to the inward-looking, isolationist nonsense coming from the Paulians, which ignores that every time the US had done so, things went sour all over the world - and in ways that resulted in mass carnage and a monstrous death toll. Isolationism will not solve the nation’s problems, and may actually contribute to further problems down the road.

It’s bad jobu for the US to be isolationist - and Europe and the rest of the world sees it as their chance to push their own agendas and engage in expansionism and violence while the US looks askance and in effect says “what, me worry? We’ve got 2 oceans to protect us. “

Has Europe engaged in much violence lately?
