For those interested, as of the 11:00 news the Kentucky General Assembly was reportedly close to a budget deal, but they may be at it until 3:00 a.m. If they don’t get a deal done by sunrise tomorrow, they won’t have time to print a budget to pass on the last day of the session, Friday. Since Governor Bevin has stated that he will not call a special session, this could potentially result in a shutdown of much of state government starting July 1 and lasting until the G.A. can pass a budget sometime next year.
