Oh, Obama/Lauer interview. I just watched the end, where he comments. He said Simpson is “in a weight battle.” I don’t think any slight was intended there. He was commenting in a way on why his photo was covered up on the cover by the Simpson story. “Weight battles” being standard tabloid fare.

What I find weird is his saying that his being covered up was “hurtful” — he didn’t say it with a wink. Does he really think his photo being covered up is “hurtful”? Someone please tell me the C in C did not just say on national television that some tabloid cover hurt his feewings.

i didn’t see the interview but this kind of behavior would be in keeping w/ a pathological narcissist. they are so all consumed w/ themselves, they have no idea a statement like this, might be inappropriate or flat out nuts.
