That’s not true. Ludwig’s entirely sincere in this, and this is an old, old fight about Jewish identity.

I have no problem if someone thinks that only religious Jews fit their definition of Jews; I generally only ask that that person remains consistent, and doesn’t then claim the works and deeds of any ethnic Jew who does not actually fit that definition.

Unfortunately, it rarely works that way.

I half thank you. You are correct about my sincerity. I am curious though why you don’t see the nationalist argument of it or refuse to see it. This is not about observant or unobservant Jews.

We either respect our own national symbols and identity ourselves or we don’t.

It is such a simple point that I am shocked it requires any explanation.
