There are many things about America that we can call great and be proud of. But we are a nation made up of humans, who are fallible. there are other things about America that are not so great.

What makes a nation truly great is its ability to learn and grow.

our nation’s past is exclusionary and evolutionary.
especially w/r/t slavery, women, the poor and underprivledged.
there is no point in time to which we can look back and get any kind of universal agreement that yes, this was when america was great
