That is Mich’s entire point. Close the f’n door if you’re so afraid of a break-in that you have a gun at the bed.

To be sure, my doors are closed and locked with a deadbolt. But that won’t stop someone who takes a sledgehammer to the doorknob as happened here recently. The only way to avoid it completely is to escape and, frankly, that’s why we didn’t fight the foreclosure as hard as we could have, so that we can.
