Celsius does make the most objective sense, being based on the freezing & boiling point of the most common liquid on Earth.
Fahrenheit based his scale on some convoluted reasoning, which nowadays makes no real sense.

Humans in good health and suitably hydrated can survive up to about 50°C; (122°F) for a short time. Above 50, just forget it. Global warming may make that more common than before around the equatorial regions.
