I hope it doesn’t come to that. I just wish there was some way to show them how narrow-minded they are without something like that happening. But you can’t get them to see that the shutdown is effecting real government workers with real families because the idiots read the “non-essential” part and twist that like a pretzel to mean those workers don’t provide important work for the government.

And this is going to have run-on effect outside the government real quick. All the concessionary and hotel businesses near the now shuttered parks take an immediate hit. The furloughed workers cut back on purchases and hunker down - that affects their local economy and so forth. The kind of activities that trigger recessions since money ceases to move and the engine slows down.
