This, by the way, is exactly the same line used by opponents of civil rights legislation. Of course, when you look at one individual hiring decision, you can always say that the white male was chosen for perfectly good reasons. It’s only when you look at the aggregate number that a pattern emerges.

What the hell does that have to do with the cab driver attack we’ve been talking about? Changing the goal posts?
