Yes…But the NFL offensive game has grown by leaps and bounds..
Big Tall fast Athletic receivers.. Fast slot players…Huge fast tight ends that cut over the middle or run the post..Running backs that are almost interchangeable when you zone bock well.. Coach Pat Jones says the most important calls are made by the Center who always point out the Middle Linebacker..Everyone calls out where ‘Mike’ is and the QB calls the play from there…( I always wondered why the Centers are always pointing at somebody..Yes there are defensive players on the other side..What the hell is up with the pointing?)
I really like the designs of the zone clearing passes from Bill Walsh..
You send one or two guys through a zone and there is nobody left to defend the next receiver..He was a genius with clearing zones..
