My wife and I have passed up a lot of concerts - Steely Dan last year in particular - because ticket prices are ridiculous. They wanted $225 a ticket for last-row seats!

I love Becker and Fagen as much as anybody, but I kept that $450 in my pocket and put the aja CD on.

I go to shows but I go to smaller venues for much cheaper prices. I don’t think I’ve ever paid more than 50 dollars for live music. I prefer the smaller venues anyhow which granted is probably harder with a big name like McCartney or Steely Dan.
