I’m gonna go with the one that shows up at Google.

Naive: (of a person or action) showing a lack of experience, wisdom, or judgment.
Exmpl: “the rather naive young man had been totally misled”

Naive has strong connotations of being innocently duped rather than being willfully evil.

No gay conservative in the US is an innocent dupe. They all know that many in the US right want to see non-straights dead, and delude themselves one way or another that they personally aren’t in danger of being the star player in an auto da fe.
