Obama cares more about abstract principles than about the potential loss of innocent lives. He muses about how we have to “uphold our Constitution and values.” He doesn’t explain how letting bloodthirsty murderers loose achieves this goal. Earth to Barry: This is not some abstract philosophical discussion in a Constitutional law class. This is real life, real threats, real potential for widespread human suffering.

And when some of these Gitmo monsters do their thing again, odds are very good that Obama won’t be personally hit by one of them. He sits in the White House, protected by some of the best security in the world, and effectively condemns other innocent saps to the death sentence these murderers are itching to carry out.

In other words, he does not have to be held personally responsible for his decision. The Left never is. They release the worst criminals back into society, in the name of “reform,” and they never admit how wrong they’ve been.

In the magical world of the Left, facts don’t matter. Reality doesn’t matter. The only things that matter are how passionately you try to impose your utopian vision on others, and how good you feel about yourself.
