re: #425 ggt

I’ve often thought the only real differences between Christianity and Islam is in the manner in which they practictioners try to control sex. In Christianity, men are expected to control themselves —women are to be respectful, but not responsible to that. In Islam, Men can’t possibly be expected to control themselves, women are responsible.

Christianity trys to get the individual to control themselves by internal means (mind over matters). Isam trys to get individuals to control themselves by external means (matter over mind).

The “only” real difference. Ok, that’s a major disconnect. Where as there may some practitioners of each religion that display similar tendencies, and you can find some crossover in some areas, both socially and politically, theologically, they are generally worlds apart. Philosophically, they are generally worlds apart.

You can’t really say “the only real difference.” That is basely simple and misleading.
