A national registry of the mentally ill is okay, but a national registry of gun owners would be a step too far, I’m sure.

Apparently LaPierre advocates government seizure of psychiatrist’s and psychologist’s files to be published. Also any GP who prescribes antidepressants. That’s just the beginning of creating such a list. This to protect our freedom, of course.
