This was the case where the cops were doing a sweep through an apartment building and Gurley was taking the stairs because the elevator was taking too long to come. He was walking down as Officer Liang was going up - and Liang shot him dead. The NYPD immediately called it accidental, but it went to policy and practice and failures of both.

I’m glad that an indictment was returned, but that’s still a far cry from a conviction (or plea deal).
