re: #408 makeitstop

Speaking of those under-rated Beatles - today’s the day I get with a few guys from a few other bands out here and do our annual Beatles show. We first did it on the 50th anniversary of their first Ed Sullivan appearance, and the club has had us back every year since.

Six guys, 50 Fabs tunes, and a pretty good beer selection. I’ve seen worse ways to spend a Sunday in March.

More underrated Beatles. A couple of weeks ago, it was Mother’s Day in Glasgow, and I was treating my Mum to afternoon tea in this cafe, and we were hearing this tune being played over the music system. We were looking at each other: it’s not a tune we know, but it sounds so familiar- it’s 60s, it’s very English in tone, maybe it’s The Kinks? So i Shazam’d it, and it came up with a result I couldn’t quite believe, so I checked with the staff, and it was correct.

The tune was The Beatles: “Your Mother Should Know”. As soon as we found that out, both my Mum and I cracked up laughing.

Your mother should know - The Beatles (LYRICS/LETRA) [Original]
