True. I remember the period of time I spent between discovering LGF and catching open registration, maybe a couple weeks later, back during Rathergate.

It took me almost a year to catch a registration. I started lurking to see what I thought was intelligent and active discussion of the presidential debates from a Conservative perspective. I started to get to know some of you all through your words and found that I really, really wanted to take part in the discussion… At first I didn’t want to barge in because there are a lot of points where I disagree with most of you and I didn’t want to be seen as a troll or a Moby or as being disruptive… but then I started to realize that this wasn’t an echo chamber and that there are posters here that do disagree and that are respected, so I took a shot and registered.

Charles has created a really special place here. There are a lot of posters who have given me food for thought, even if they haven’t changed my mind.
