One could also argue the unions did it to themselves, by imposing demands on business owners that their business models would not support. It’s a classic example of a Union screwing everybody over by making a business move elsewhere.

That’s a very simplistic way to put my view, but I don’t really have the time to get into a serious conversation about it. I really shouldn’t be on LGF, I’m trying to study, and I keep getting dragged back by my curiosity of what’s being talked about… grrr.

I agree that I oversimplified it and I also agree that the unions are not blameless. However, overall, the fact remains that we really did shift our industry away from America to avoid treating workers like humans and to avoid environmental regulations. The righties will go on and on about their lost profits, when in reality we had the greatest economic powerhouse in human history. The goose’s eggs just weren’t big and golden enough. The end result was killing the goose.

And what I am arguing morally, is that should really be secondary to whether or not you think it is ok for a 3rd world child to sew your shoes.
