Over the years, I’ve noticed that “civilization” is just a shiny veneer on old instincts and habits. We tell ourselves that we’re different than our ancestors, but we’ve just found more advanced and clean methods of meeting the same goals. We spill a lot less blood, but the same instincts are still there, under the surface.
We are feeling animals that think.
