Because he is a middle class schmuck doing a thankless job and didn’t ask for this shit and doesn’t deserve it? He is one of the ones from that school who didn’t end up on the stratosphere track to riches and influence. Right now…at this very minute…he is lecturing or managing students who he is trying to get ready for the next test, the next assignment, the next whatever…and I cannot for the life of me understand what the hell happened to us to start treating victims of thuggish Republican callousness as actual enemies that we should mock or even help to destroy.

What the hell is wrong with us? Did we stare into the abyss too long? Do I need to remind everybody again that this is a middle school teacher and not a lobbyist, executive or peddler of influence?

He isn’t a player and we have no goddamned business treating him like one.
