Isaac Asimov and Carl Sagan will always be among my biggest heroes. I am literally ashamed that for quite a while I bought into all the skepticism about AGW…after initially accepting it when I first learned about it back in the 90’s. I let myself be swayed by the claims that the science had been corrupted, that the scientists were withholding or distorting data, etc. etc. …the very thing I ridiculed Creationists for claiming about evolution. I insulted my memories of these two great men and the things they taught me about the power of science and rational thinking. I have a lot of making up to do.
BTW, Asimov sported some wicked ‘burns.
I’m not sure you should be ashamed for being skeptical. Hard-headed, narrow-minded, whacko … now those are things to be ashamed of.
