I don’t agree. I’ve seen too many helpful education programs cut in my state to say that there is some way to do it effectively. They need more money, in fact, not less.

Another helpful program cut by Jeb Bush as Gov was the girl’s PACE program which took at-risk girls and taught them in a private school setting. The majority, some 80% went on to college or trade school. It kept problem kids off the street and made them functioning members of society. It was cut. What duplication of services?

So, what would you suggest as the solution? New/higher taxes? Cutting spending elsewhere? Something’s gotta give, and if working to make social spending dollars go farther is not it, then the burden has to carried elsewhere.
