In my experience most GOP donors don’t actually have that good a sense of their own economic self interest. Like most people they have an ideology, and the assumptions underpinning that ideology all too often do not comport themselves with reality, and when that happens all too often these people reevaluate their concept of reality instead of reexamining the assumptions in the original hypothesis.

All that to say I don’t expect the Koch’s, Mercer’s, etc to change their tune any time soon.

The Kochs hate the orange turd something fierce and have largely put up with him because he was getting some of the things they wanted done. In a scenario where there’s a good chance he’s gone and Pence has his own term or at least the remainder of Donny’s get shit done? They’ll ditch him in a heart beat.
