IIRC from the episode, she was nurse (so could get a job about anywhere) but wanted to stay at home now with six kids. But he was something like a medical equipment sales rep, which probably requires him to live in particular major metro areas.

Oceanside, btw, is mostly the cheaper side of coastal communities in the county. It has some very expensive property right on the beach, but outside of that is still “affordable” compared to the rest of the county.
