Those is Greece featured mass property destruction and arson. Here in the US, that sort of mass disruption would not be tolerated. A crowd like those seen in Athens would run into armed citizen opposition in many places. Things would get very ugly very quickly.
I spent six weeks in Greece. The students protested something or other every weekend. That was not the same as the more recent protests, but my point is that Greece has a looong and proud history of street protests that usually aren’t violent in the least.
I grew up in Southern California. I attended street protests, but not riots. Those I caught on TV. There has never been “armed citizen opposition” to a street protest in the US in my lifetime (that clock started ticking in 1958.) I hope if I’m wrong, someone will provide a link.
I’m just trying to ground you in reality a bit.
