The facts of how this vet wound up in MCSD custody aren’t in dispute and I doubt any one of us would disagree that this was most likely a righteous arrest. If the guy was doing something against the law, let the law handle it.

The real issue is that a Latino in MCSD custody has met a suspicious, untimely end…and this is not the first (or even second) time this appears to have happened in the past few years, IIRC.

To paraphrase Hamlet, something is rotten in the state of Arizona.

This seems to be yet another case of neglect, or outright abuse. It should be investigated by the appropriate authorities out of simple respect for the rule of law.

With that said, however, it is really hard for me to care about what happened to this guy. Hell, if he was accidentally shot out of a cannon into the sun while being subdued, after abusing a woman, I’d still have a hard time drumming up any sympathy or care.

IMO, there is so much evidence for abuse/neglect/mismanagement/etc by Joe Arpaio’s department that I feel it is foolish for liberals to appear sympathetic to a womanizer just to point out another instance.
