I think back to his rather wooden performance at the first night of the RNC, as if he was still trying to process that it was actually happening and he was actually about to be crowned as the nominee. The man either didn’t think he could win or is just now realizing how running for the job bore not resemblance to actually getting the job.

He was only in for the adulation of the crowds - oh, how it fed his ego! They loved him!

Now……he’s the dog that caught the car and the look on his face confirms it.
