Nothing unbelievable about that. Give them money and they spend it. When they run out and see an opportunity to spend more money they go for it. Damn the consequences to the economy, just spend, spend, spend!

Construction jobs don’t count, I guess. This is the kind of cherry-picking nonsense that makes the anti-stimulus crowd look like idiots. One could argue rebuilding a bridge in Minnesota isn’t good for the economy because once the bridge is built, the contracts for building that bridge end…and so do the jobs. Or building a new library or school doesn’t count because once the job is done, the jobs are gone.
