So Sarah Huckaliar says that the yam was returning a salute—in the photo, the guy has his hand out to shake the yam’s (tiny) hand. Any earlier photos where he was saluting? (Putting aside her bullshit about it being customary in the first place.)

Now that I have power back and can type more, just wanted to say that the Philip Bump article yesterday about how the media should not just quote yam idiocy in headlines and tweets is evergreen, and I wish every media moron would read it.
