Only two of my cats have figured out that the cat door downstairs is for their benefit to actually go outside and work off some of their chubs. The other two prefer to loll around inside and obsess over meal time.

My domestic shorthair goes out as far as the patio, which she holds down for me. When the Siamese takes off, she comes in and rats him out. :D

If another cat comes near her patio, however, she shows that she can move quickly - she is very terratorial about her patio.
