I disagree, but then I never thought there was anything wrong with the report in the first place. In addition to this incident, we have the cop killer in Pittsburgh, a white nationalist with components for a dirty bomb, a plot by skinheads to assassinate Obama, and more. The DHS report was on target.

Are these incidents occuring more frequently than “background”? Or are they just getting more press?

Presidential threats happen every single day, they just usually don’t make the news. In this case, the “skinhead” plot was pretty thin gruel (ie the plan itself was laughable), but it was newsworthy because of context (ie stupid young skinheads and new Black president).

As you know, there are lots of non-right wing extremist attacks that occur all the time as well.

Again, the problem with the report was that it was poorly written. A better report could have made the exact same points correctly describing extremist threats, but without offending “right wingers”, etc.
