What’s funny about that remark of mine is that my best buddy’s ex-bro-in-law built exactly that as a teenager, and made it work, too.

Imagine running a telephone BBS from a barracks on a Navy base using a C=64, a 1200 baud modem, and 8 1541 floppy drives. I did that, paying big bucks to get two phone lines installed in my room.
