But that’s the way it is. Good people get murdered by fanatics sometimes. If you don’t want it to happen:

A. Work against the fanatics. (you already do this)

B. Get yourself a means of self-defense.

I know that sounds cold, but I feel bluntness has its uses sometimes.

I don’t disagree in the least, in the general case. But it seems to me that this guy was smart enough to get around any attempts at self-defense. Breaking this down a little more…

1) Can’t shoot your way out of a car bombing. Either you’re a causality or not.

2) An attack on a youth camp, dressed as a cop. Not many trained, adult shooters are going to take down a cop without significant delay. Now add kids to the mix and it becomes VERY tricky. Especially with the reports of him beckoning the kids to him.
