On one level I agree. Israel battles daily to keep terrorist out, to maintain the IDF at a level that the Arab armies never question it. Rockets hit it every day. But somehow life goes on. This is the Israel I’ve always known.

And at any moment or time, if Isreal were proven to be vulnerable to successful attack, it would cease to exist.

Some fanatical circles in Iran (their president among them) seriously discuss how nuking Isreal would destroy them in one fell swoop, and that it would be worth the collateral damage to be finally rid of their enemy they hate so much.
