I mentioned that article at comment #164, but it probably bears repeating. The country has elected a fool.

That said, I suspect this isn’t Mr. Trump’s idea either - I doubt he even knew that agency existed. I am not sure which wingnut or fascist in his retinue would choose to fire them on the first day with no replacement. That is idiocy. There is a reason presidents don’t just jump in and fire them without a thoroughly-vetted replacement.

Gov. Pence, maybe? He wants an apocalypse to support his religious belief.
