Heh, just doing some reminiscing about the competition and having mentioned this here before…I was just looking at Google images searching for “model rocket competition” and it appears to still be ongoing. Cool.

Here is an image of some kids with their “egg loft” competition rocket. Egg goes in the longish nose cone with as inventive a protection packing as possible. And you fly the rocket. it is judged on stability and height of flight and bring the egg back down unbroken.

Good to see young ladies involved too. I had a female teammate in my final year of high school…the girlfriend of a buddy that was at Ohio State in the aero department.
