“School choice” is a bogus term. There really is no choice for people if public schools are shut down and no private schools will accept students from the inner city, assuming there is even transportation to take them there.

It’s just a scam to transfer money from public schools into private schools who practice segregation.

“What have you got to lose” indeed.

“School choice” is about as Orwellian as you can get without quoting directly from his works. There is no choice, there’s the illusion of choice when the reality is that the government is not going to cut a check big enough to make a real difference to millions of poor Americans. But they will make a huge difference to the profit margins of diploma mills that will sprout up like weeds to suck up all those checks.
