The media is spinning the unemployment report as good news even though we’re still losing jobs. It’s just that we’re not losing jobs nearly as fast as the past few months. I expect the figures to be revised upwards, and jobs will be lost once the holiday season and seasonal workers leave the marketplace in January.

We’re still in a bad way, and nothing the feds have done has actually created jobs, let alone saved them in the kinds of numbers needed to get the economy going again. A cost benefit analysis would tell you that when you’re spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to create a single job, you’re doing it wrong.
