And honestly Trump ideologically on some things isn’t as insane as many of them are. I think I read he gave a somewhat reasonable take on PP. For all the calling of Jeb Bush a moderate, he’s not acted like one. For Republicans a “moderate” is just someone who doesn’t act like a complete aes.

Trump is an opportunist, not an ideologue. Thus on domestic policy he would not be nearly as bad as any of the other GOP candidates, if elected POTUS. The Jacobin-level ideological intensity of any real GOP POTUS would be worse than anything Trump would end up doing, even if we assume Trump would basically be incompetent and corrupt as POTUS.

The real problem with Trump as POTUS is in foreign policy, where his blustering could get us into a truly pointless World War III.
