re: #45 Targetpractice

Boris is acting much like Trump did after the first impeachment, thinking that the party voting to keep him means that he’s bulletproof. He can’t face another vote of confidence for 12 months, the party members know this, so they’re stuck with him.

The 1922 Committee, which governs the Conservative Party, is very likely to change the rules regarding that 12 months and allow for an internal no-confidence vote to be held pretty much immediately. It is certainly within their power to do so.

So Boris is not as safe as he might like to think he is. There’s a strong possibility that the 1922 Committee will say enough is enough (might even happen today, LOL), make the rule change, and that’s that. Boris wouldn’t survive such a vote.

At that point, Boris would have to go nuclear: Call a general election. This would be his Sampson Option - he knows he’s finished, but he’s gonna take the entire Conservative Party down with him.
